Market Street, Newbury, Berkshire, RG14 5LD
Contract: Initial contract to 6th August 2021 with possible further extension.
Hours: Full Time - Monday to Friday - 8:30am to 5:00pm
Payrate: £14.38 an Hour
Description:
The role will be office based, candidates must have CIPP Level 5 and experience of local government and teachers pay.
ResourceLink experience is not essential but would be preferred.
4-5 years previous payroll experience.
good understanding of payroll & benefits legislation.
Attention to detail.
Knowledge and responsibilities
A thorough understanding of HMRC statutory pay guidelines, keeping up to date with future regulatory and legislative changes, anticipating and managing any implications of these changes for the Council to ensure compliance.
Responsible for providing expert Payroll advice and support in line with current and future HMRC and Pension Regulations to Payroll colleagues, WBC Managers, WBC Schools and employees.
Responsible for the distribution of all pay documentation to employees. Production and calculation of P11D's, P45 and P60's and submission to HMRC by set dates.
Responsible for production of statutory annual/monthly pension returns in relation to LGPS, NEST, Teachers Pensions and NHS Pension Schemes.
Responsible for all aspects of the payroll function, including payment for wages and salaries, PAYE tax, payments to third parties, year-end processing and balancing of payroll reports at each pay cycle.
Responsible for RTI reporting to HMRC and balancing of multiple PAYE ref's.
