Shared Services SA - Financial Operations, Government Services The Financial Accountant reports directly to the Principal Financial Accountant. The incumbent is responsible for the provision of accurate and timely financial services, annual financial statements, asset management and general ledger information which meets customer needs. The Financial Accountant undertakes taxation activities to ensure legislative compliance and tax effective solutions.Provide quality customer service, whilst building relationships with clients, and demonstrating respect, consistency and courtesy when dealing with written and verbal enquiries.Prepare annual financial statements and associated working papers, in accordance with Treasurer's Instructions, Accounting Policy Framework and Australian Accounting Standards.Prepare and analyse financial reports and ensure the accuracy of system generated financial reports.Undertake designated activities associated with reconciliations including: investigating and following up of outstanding items; balancing the general ledger and subsidiary systems where access is provided; collating returns; preparing calculations and journals for processing, and approving journals when required. Undertake general accounting and various financial services tasks.Provide timely and accurate financial information and advice to client agencies, on accounting and financial management policies, processes and procedures.Contribute to the development, maintenance, implementation and review of financial management policies, processes, procedures, general ledger, and systems, including assistance with unclaimed monies processes.
Remuneration: Administrative Services Officer, Level 5 (ASO5 $80,830 - 89,897 p.a.)
