The opportunity

As a Payroll, Compensation & Benefits Officer, you will be accountable for gathering information, reviewing original decisions on benefits and wage entitlements, recalculating, and remediating any identified errors. You will also have strong support for these accountabilities by Senior team members. Specific tasks may include:
  • Engaging external stakeholders to gather information to determine correct entitlements for Workers Compensation benefits
  • Contacting parties to advise of outcomes as a result of a review of entitlements
  • Maintaining accurate records on engagement activities, considerations and decisions.

  • The roll is a full-time temporary contract located in either our Newcastle or Lismore office with the occasional travel between offices and the City required.

    We are looking for a confident and capable professional, who has demonstrated analytical and service delivery skills with strong attention to detail. We require self-motivated individuals who can maintain these levels of excellence through times of change and show resilience in the face of any challenge. You will possess the following experience and skills:
  • Experience in payroll
  • Understanding of government agency payroll systems / practices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills
  • An aptitude for analysing information and making sound decisions
