About the Role

We are looking for a Tax Accountant to join the team who will work closely with the director and 2IC and highlight any issues with the day-to-day bookkeeping, taxation and payroll among other things. We want someone that is invested long term as we need to revitalize our record keeping and bring more organization to our day-to-day financials.

The person would be responsible for the following:
  • Review all accounting transactions - highlighting issues and instructions on how to fix it best practice
  • Train us to handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
  • Reviewing our reconciling bank accounts, ATO accounts and Financial Statement Accounts with instructions on how to get these to best practice
  • Reviewing and troubleshooting Payrolls, STP, GST and Superannuation processing and reconciliation and how to better hand this on a weekly basis
  • BAS and IAS preparation and submission
  • Teach us to prepare working papers in reference to depreciation and taxation rules on Hire Purchase Agreements
  • Provide training, coaching and development of our part time Accountants
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
  • Comply with Australian financial and tax policies and regulations
  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities
  • Qualification:
  • Proven work experience in Australian tax accounting
  • Excellent knowledge of Australian Tax accounting regulations and procedures including GST & PAYG requirements
  • Solid hands-on XERO experience
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VLOOKUP's
  • Experience with general ledger functions
