    Purpose of the role

    This role is part of our Partner Finance team which has responsibility for partner payments and profit distribution. The role would assist the Partner Accountant and Partner Finance Manager.

    Job description

    Core duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
  • Assist in the preparation of Partner distributions
  • Prepare monthly reporting including monthly distribution of Partner Contribution Summary and Partner reports
  • Maintain Firms signatories on bank accounts.
  • Prepare and distribute Quarterly PAYG reports to all Partners
  • Assist in the preparation of annual distribution statements
  • Manage the Partner database (Microsoft Access) to ensure all information is entered, accurate and up to date as well as the production of reports using this information as required
  • Involvement in month end process, including review and investigation
  • Support the Budget process for the Partnership, including Partner Units and Fixed draws and input into the Firms month end processes by reconciling information
  • Partnering with various stakeholders across the firm
  • Involvement in creating/updating dashboards
  • Maintain entitlement information in Jedox
  • Record and track partner numbers and movement
  • Involvement in projects and systems implementation
  • Identification of business process improvement opportunities
  • General ad-hoc tasks as required

    What we are looking for:
  • Strong MS Excel, MS Access and PowerPoint skills are essential
  • Legal industry or professional services experience is desirable (but not essential)
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce or finance related discipline
  • CPA/CA desirable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Jedox, Qlik, SQL or other BI application knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team;
  • Effective self-management to achieve delivery of results in a professional manner;
  • Resilience and a calm / proactive approach when working under pressure
  • Strong time management with excellent organisational and prioritising skills
  • Creativity and initiative in approach to achieving results and suggesting improvements
