The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and agile professional with at least 3 years broad industry experience. You will be responsible in performing the full accounts payable function which includes processing invoices, coding/checking invoices, entering data into Pronto and processing payments, according to company policies and deadlines and identify any errors or discrepancies before processing. In this role, you will also be assisting the finance team in monthly and quarterly financial accounting deliverables including journals, reconciliations, BAS and financial statements preparation.

Based in Melbourne, this position will have the opportunity to work closely with our Financial Accounting Manager.

About You

To succeed in this role, you must be a CPA/CA full or almost qualified, have high attention to details and high degree of accuracy is a must. Self-starter, highly organised and independent, have the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Willing to lean and progress in Accounting in the longer term, positive attitude and with strong team spirit. You must have an in-depth knowledge and excellent Excel, Word and communication skills.

Core Job Focus:

To meet the key requirements of the position, it's essential you're able to demonstrate results in:
  • Maintains accurately and timely the General Ledger for couple of small corporate entities within the group using Pronto GL software and prepares Annual Financial Statements as required within deadlines for further review.
  • Prepares timely and high-quality Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations including intercompany, bank and related journal entries.
  • Prepares commentary/variance analysis on corporate entities, selected costs and assist with Group commentary.
  • Prepares BAS for GST returns
  • Assists on sections in Group quarterly accounts preparation in line with IFRS and TSX listing requirements within tight deadlines.
  • Conduct regular reviews of policies and procedures to identify any issues and provide any suggested improvements to ensure that it meets Auditor requirement and is achieved with maximum efficiency.
  • Complete weekly cash report and payment forecasting, reviewing all bank account balances for Melbourne/Canada offices.
  • Arrange intercompany funds transfers and complete monthly intercompany recharges.
  • Provides effective support to the finance team.
  • Assist in ad hoc tasks/projects as required by the Finance team
