We're working closely with our government client to assist with the recruitment of multiple EL1 level Accountant positions on an initial contract basis through until September 2021. This is a great opportunity to join an exciting business area where you'll partner with a broad range of stakeholders to support them during a busy period.

A key focus of the role will be to review and assess the impacts of recent changes to the Australian Revenue Recognition standard so prior experience in this area would prove advantageous. As part of your role you'll provide timely and accurate financial reporting to your own portfolio so the ability to effectively manage and prioritise your own workload is essential.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing contracts and providing recommendations to business areas on the impact of revenue recognition changes.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful financial reporting to a range of operationally focused stakeholders.
  • Providing additional support throughout year end including liaising with external accountants and auditors.
  • Providing analytical support to inform strategic initiatives & projects.
  • Responding to and resolving finance queries and requests for assistance in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective internal and external working relationships.

  • Who are you?

    To be successful in this role you will have the following key attributes:
  • A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance as well as completion of the CA/CPA Program, or equivalent work experience in commercial / project accounting.
  • Technical knowledge and/or experience in financial accounting including experience in preparing complex financial statements in line with relevant frameworks
  • Sound judgement, forward-thinking and impactful problem-solving skills to investigate issues and develop appropriate responses.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve results, particularly during periods of change.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a high level of trust and respect.
