A key Interim Finance role, supporting the Financial Controller with all aspects of day to day finance, especially on the balance sheet side.

Description

• Key contributor to the month end close process and preparation of monthly consolidated accounts, helping the wider finance team to achieve effective and timely distribution of internal and external reporting.
• Take ownership of allocated areas of the finance function, maintaining awareness of key deadlines and using excellent timekeeping skills to re-prioritise tasks where necessary.
• Maintain the group intercompany reconciliations, raise recharges as required, and monitor adherence to our internal intercompany and transfer pricing policies.
• Ownership of key balance sheet accounts, preparing reconciliations in line with group policy.
• Contributing to the SOX compliance of the team and the wider business and supporting the development of the evolving control environment.
• Assisting the upcoming ERP company-wide project

• Actively contributing towards the drive for continuous improvement, looking to maximise operational efficiency and improve upon standard operating procedures for all systems and processes.

Profile

For this key Interim role, we are looking for a Qualified Accountant with:

• A background in SME management accounting would be advantageous, or if not, experience in an operational finance or shared services finance team in a large business will also be considered.
• A thorough understanding of best practice accounting principles and approach to month end close.
• Experience of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting in addition to UK GAAP would be advantageous but not essential.
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience, with the ability to manipulate and interpret key financial data.
• Demonstrable experience of prioritising workload and managing multiple tight deadlines effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to forge strong internal and external working relationships
• Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude, demonstrating the drive and enthusiasm to achieve own potential and improve the operational performance of the department

Job Offer

£280-£320 per day via an umbrella company, for around a 4 month period.
