Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, the Stock Accountant, will be responsible for stock control across multiple legal entities and locations, maintaining the integrity of the stock records through reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies. The role requires working closely with Operations, Finance and Purchasing and the key tasks will include:

Description

• Responsible for the control and monitoring of the stock holding including valuation, provisioning, disposal, and control environment.
• Production of monthly stock reconciliations and reporting as part of the finance month end process in accordance with the group timetable to ensure the actual stock holding is correctly reflected in the accounting system.
• Work closely with the Head of Operations to manage the stock ordering process, such as, collating sales forecasts, reviewing current stock levels and making sure we have shipments 'on order' to cover forecasted sales, managing stock efficiency and accounting for the lead time associated with supplies.
• Drive a robust stock taking process each month with the individual warehouse managers ensuring stock integrity and a robust sign-off process for warehouse and van locations.
• A key finance lead in the implementation of a new Group stock system.
• Out of the warehouse accurately and in a timely manner, close control over slow moving and obsolete stock ensuring adequate provisions are in place.
• Setup a robust and controlled internal stock transfer process.
• Play a lead role in the setup of fulfilment process to support the businesses e-commerce objectives.
• Work closely with senior members of the finance team to integrate acquired entities stock holding into the group.

Profile

• CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA qualified.
• Minimum 3 years' experience of working in a Finance high volume stock related role.
• Strong technical accounting skills.
• Microsoft Access or SQL database experience required.
• Experience of system and process improvements.
• Advanced Excel skills - including experience of creating and using Pivot Tables and V-Look Up.
• Experience of Sage, SAP, NetSuite or similar accounting systems
