The Joint Venture

UGL | Altrad have been awarded a contract for Brownfields Onshore Implementation Services for Woodside. Services to be provided include the detailed planning and execution of access, fire protection application, blasting and painting, cladding and insulation, mechanical, pipe-spool equipment replacement, and electrical services.

The Role and Requirements

UAJV are currently seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join the project team, based in the UAJV Project office in Perth, CBD. The successful applicant will report to the Commercial Manager and will be working amongst a project environment and responsible for overseeing all aspects of the payroll process for all UAJV employees.

This role is due to commence immediately and will operate on a Monday - Friday, 45-hour week. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a project team where your skills and experience will be key in succeeding more work for on-going opportunities!

Main Activities

  • Development and maintenance of all Project cost control standards, procedures, tools, systems, data and activities across a portfolio of projects
  • Establishing an appropriate Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS) for all project costs exists and support mapping into the project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Develop and maintain all project cost reporting, forecasting and trending tools that align to the projects daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual milestones and client requirements
  • Assessment of all Joint Venture costs claimed using the approved JV Agreement
  • Development, submission, seeking client approval and dispute resolution of weekly and monthly requests for payment
  • Supporting the management of changes in costs and their associated approval
  • Supporting the invoicing of project costs to the appropriate client/s

  • Qualifications & Experience

    To be successful in this position, you must possess resource industry experience along with:
  • 2-5 years industry and contract relevant cost control experience.
  • Strong SAP User experience thru the entire cost to billing lifecycle.
  • Strong cost reporting and compliance background.
  • Accounting or business administration qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise of cost control practices, standards, systems and processes relevant to the operations of the project.
  • Seasoned communication skills and a fine attention to detail
  • Experience working within a multi-cultural workforce is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high functioning team.
