Role: Finance Coordinator
Reports to: Head of Finance - Pacific
The Finance Coordinator is part of a small in-house financial control team responsible for the AVEVA Australia businesses.
Core responsibilities of a Finance Coordinator include assisting with the Purchase to Pay (P2P) processes for Australian entities, supporting the business with purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and ensuring that purchase orders are processed in line with group policies and the dimensional structure. The role requires engagement with business functions, reviewing outputs and assisting the wider team with the overall financial control of purchasing.
Good controllership at AVEVA means a focus on the accuracy of our data, thorough understanding of the balance sheet, adherence to internal controls, timely reporting of results to Group, and engagement with the wider Finance Operations team to continuously improve our processes and controls.
Purchase to Pay responsibilities:
•Review purchase requisitions in line with the procurement policy
•Ensure that the accounting entries are appropriately classified in accordance with internal policy, accounting standards and nature of expenditure
•Identify procurement items that should be capitalised
•Assist the local purchase requisitioners and managers with queries on requisitions
•Act as the primary contact in the in-house finance team for the shared service centre to process non-standard P2P transactions
•Ensuring compliance with the Group's minimum internal control framework
•Maintain group insurance schedules, policies and checklists
•Maintain the company secretary records
•Support Senior Accountant with month end processes and reporting requirements
•Support Head of Finance with day to day finance activities and ongoing projects
•Assist with the administration of the Brisbane office including purchase of general staff amenities and stationery supplies
•Work with sales department on finance related information requirements
•Assisting with the monitoring of accounts receivable and debt collection
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
The successful candidate will be eager to learn and grow within AVEVA and be a people person who loves interaction with all different areas of the business. Ideally you will have a degree in accounting or studying towards achieving one.
