The Bendigo Hospitalfacilitates the delivery of enhanced health services to the Loddon-Mallee Region. With an expanded capacity including an integrated regional cancer centre and new psychiatric inpatient unit, the new Bendigo Hospital Precinctis spread across Barnard St and Lucan St in Bendigo. Spotless is part of the consortium awarded the project currently delivering a wide range of hard and soft nonclinical services to the new Bendigo Hospital.

The role

As the Assistant Accountant you will take responsibility for the the day to day accounting transactions, ensuring reports are completed and produced when required to assist the business in achieving its objectives. Reporting to the Finance manager your responsibilities will include, though are not limited to:
  • Profit and loss and balance sheet statements are prepared for review
  • Assist with Forecasting and Budgetting
  • Accounts receivable and payable are appropriately authorised at all stages and processed on time
  • Reports are prepared as required
  • Schedules of expenses are prepared and maintained to assist with budgets and forecasts
  • Purchase orders are raised for site expenses
  • Stocktakes are coordinated and results reported
  • Documentation is processed to ensure the asset register is maintained
  • Life cycle register is maintained

  • About You

    Working in a high-performance team, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate superb organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Having the ability to self-lead, display an innovative, and collaborative mind-set is a real plus

    Ideal Candidates will:
  • Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting/Business
  • Progression towards CPA or CA
  • 3 years experience in similar service based role
  • SAP experience would be preferred but not essential
  • Competence with Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment would be advantageous though not required
