The Opportunity:

We have an excellent opportunity for a Lawyer to join our Direct Tax team in Sydney. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in tax gained from within a top-tier law firm, or professional services firm. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most significant transactions in Australia. Working within a partner-led team, you will be facilitated on delivering expert and premium quality advice to our clients.

Desired Skills & Experience:

At least 2-4 years' tax experience gained within a top-tier law firm or professional services firm
  • We require candidates who have a law degree and who have completed the College of Law or equivalent
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving ability
  • Solid understanding of the Income Tax Assessment Acts and associated legislative and jurisprudence and the ability to inquire and analyse deeply into particular tax provisions
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A commercial approach and an ability to negotiate effectively
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Superior drafting and research ability
  • The ability to be team-focused and also work independently
