The key duties of the position include:

We are seeking performance-driven tax experts to join our Client Engagement and Law Design and Practice Groups.

As a Tax Specialist, in the Client Engagement Group, you will engage with clients and provide detailed tax technical and policy advice in relation to complex problems across a range of markets and industries. You'll review complex structures and transactions and identify key tax risks. You may assist in strategic planning, program and project management.

You will work as part of a team and will review the quality of work undertaken by others to, build capability and develop and encourage others to achieve their potential.

In Law Design and Practice, Review and Dispute Resolution, you will be responsible for managing or determining taxpayer objections, disputes and reviews in any market or revenue product with varying degrees of technical complexity. You will engage in alternative dispute resolution approaches in both the prevention and early resolution of disputes.

You will have a considerable level of stakeholder contact in relation to difficult or sensitive issues and will liaise with a range of stakeholders in a representational role.

You will work under limited direction and be accountable for undertaking work that is complex in nature and delivering quality results in accordance with the requirements of your work area and team plans, with the opportunity to act with reasonable autonomy. You will need to exercise judgment to provide detailed technical advice in relation to complex problems.

You may be a team coach or lead a small operational team and be expected to be capable of reviewing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work group. You will be accountable for organising their own workflow, and for making decisions in relation to their work area.
