Job Details

This Head of Payroll position is based around St. Albans and is an initial 12 month ftc to drive change and process improvement for a dynamic and exciting new Payroll team within this FMCG brand.

With a forward thinking and dynamic senior management team this role is working with the Head of Finance to drive the payroll function through a period of change and process improvement. Based on the outskirts of St. Albans with parking on site and excellent facilities

Description

Head of Payroll duties and responsibilities;

  • Drive and support the payroll change programme across strategy, provider selection, customer service focus and international expansion
  • Lead and Manage the Payroll team to deliver processes internationally, working to SLAs and policies supporting the Payroll Manager in their day to day management role
  • Ensure an excellent level of customer service is implemented and maintained across the payroll function
  • Period end activities and ensure accuracy of payments
  • Report periodic KPIs with analysis and presentation to senior leadership
  • Develop the service provision strategy across all UK and international locations and develop strong relationships with service providers
  • Management of supplier performance to SLA's and customer satisfaction
  • Continuously improve processes
  • Partnering with IT, HR and Finance to drive process efficiency's and change
  • Support company wide change initiatives
  • Act as a process lead for payroll defining requirements and driving implementation for processes and systems to meet business requirements, performance metrics and compliance.
  • Driving initiatives to enhance compliance controls and address areas of non-compliance and internal finance procedures
  • Build and develop a high performing highly engaged team creating a culture of service excellence

Profile

Head of Payroll experience, characteristics and skills required;

  • Experience of managing payroll change and previously payroll operations
  • Strong demonstrable experience of people managing and large teams
  • Experience of improving payroll systems
  • Experience of driving and implementing a customer service focused approach in an international environment
  • A great understanding of UK / International payroll legislation
  • Experience in process improvement to improve SLAs and KPIs
  • Confidence in assisting the development of strategy for the payroll and wider finance team.
  • Great communicator
  • Committed to driving change with a track record of improving a large international payroll function
