Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and rapidly growing import/export business based in Stroud, Gloucestershire looking to recruit a dynamic and hands-on Site Accountant. A permanent and varied position where the Site Accountant has total responsibility of the site's Accounting and Reporting function and support in driving business growth by providing professional, reliable, accurate reporting on business performance. Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, this position is suitable for a progressive part-qualified Accountant or an experienced qualified by experience candidate really looking to add value. Duties will involve cash flow management, fixed asset management, financial reporting/controlling and more.

Your new role

Your key duties will involve being the site lead of cash flow management including all cash and banking activities as well as producing accurate inputs in supporting Cash flow forecast. You will be involved in the timely completion of month end closing activities, responsible for Fixed Assets management and financial control on monthly depreciations, along with maintaining effective business controls to ensure costs are controlled and profit is maximised. You will lead budget and forecasting processes at site in supporting both UK and Group requirements, prepare monthly management pack of financial and ad-hoc reporting. You will be involved in some statutory reporting processes including VAT, Intrastat and National Statistics along with business partnering to the leadership team to provide an accurate picture of business performance. You will be the site lead for non-stock contracts and advise on contract renewal e.g. insurances, credit risk, etc, along with being the owner of inventory management processes.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this exciting Site Accountant role you will need experience within a similar position, ideally part qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with strong MS Excel skills and the ability to manage workloads. You will have strong communication skills to build internal and external relationships at all levels, key eye for detail, be able to meet time constraint deadlines and be an analytical problem solver who really wants to add value to the organisation. Experience with Pegasus Opera Financial systems and within an import/export business will be advantageous but not essential.
