About The RoleWe are seeking a Payroll Officer to support our Payroll team on a maternity cover contract for 12 months. This a friendly and supportive team within a key function of our HR department.

As Payroll Officer you will work closely with our Head of Payroll ensuring the payroll cycle is managed effectively and accurately and maintained accordingly. You will be responsible for the processing and reviewing of UK payroll and processing Scottish Widows pension scheme and assist with the year end process.

You will be a key contact within the payroll team for employees to come to with queries on pay dates, absences, timesheets across head office and retail at varying levels and should strive to provide an excellent level of service to all.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who is currently working towards or at a Payroll Officer level and wants to continue to develop within their role. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and motivated person within a fast-paced retail environment and get involved in all aspects of day-to-day Payroll.

You should ideally have experience in the below areas:

Ability to carry out manual calculations (SSP, SMP, Tax, NI etc.)Strong level of ExcelKnowledge of current HMRC legislationRetail experience is highly desirable Excellent communication and organisation skillsAbout Us
