We are delighted to be working with one of the North East's largest privately owned Group of Companies as they look to appoint a Group Management Accountant following promotion of the current Accountant.

Formed in 2012, Great Annual Savings Group (GAS) was established to provide business cost saving services to companies across the North East of England. Scaling exponentially, it has quickly transformed from a regional enterprise to national provider, with the entrepreneur-led group also incorporating a football club and newly created GF Community Foundation, focused on supporting local communities and addressing key social issues.

Opening a spectacular £3m state-of-the-art campus in January, with a combination of flexible workspaces, training, dining, social and wellbeing facilities, and panoramic sea-views, this is a people-centric business in every sense and, as part of a young and energetic finance team, you will be working at it's heart.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and alongside divisional Managing Directors, we are looking for an experienced, commercially minded and ambitious Management Accountant to take full ownership for multiple disciplines and businesses.

You will be expected to offer meaningful narrative alongside your work, as well as advise on trading variance and industry trends to support senior management decision-making and group performance.

An analytical mind and strong attention to detail is a pre-requisite and, collaborating closely with the finance team responsible for transactional processing, you will be required to deliver regular forecasting and budgets, as well as generate detailed monthly sales commission schedules to feed into the firm's payroll.

With a portfolio of diverse business interests, not only will you provide accounting for the group, but you will also become the financial lead for Spennymoor Town Football Club. Managing the club accounts and presenting at board level, it offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Chief Executive.

The role, and business, is fast-paced and demanding, yet incredibly rewarding, and we are looking for someone who is not only qualified with ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, but is technically strong and has an obsession for numerical detail.

To be successful you will need to be resilient and commercial in your approach. Working operationally, you must embrace change and be confident in your manner; willing to question the status quo, stand your ground, and challenge people at all levels in pursuit of continuous company-wide improvement, innovation, and efficiency savings.

Based in what can only be described as home from home, GAS stands out in the North East as a great place to work on account of the amount of investment and commitment that has gone in to building a successful organisation which places the health and well-being of its employees front and centre.

With a subsidised 'GASFit' gym, personal trainers, yoga studio, Gastro restaurant, chill out zones, creative spaces, and a dedicated Covid testing unit on-site to provide you with peace of mind, this is an amazing opportunity for an exceptionally self-motivated and charismatic individual who is driven to invest in their career and reap the rewards of long-term progression.

Not an opportunity for an inexperienced management accountant, previous knowledge in either an owner-managed business, a group, retail, sales, or organisation that has scaled quickly and been through a lot of change would be very advantageous.

If this sounds like you and you dream of working in an inspirational place which values and rewards it's people above all else, then please get in touch.
