We deliver services 24/7/365 in city centres as well as rural locations.Our vision is to be the best service provider in the UK utilities and infrastructure sectors by safely constructing, maintaining and managing essential services at the lowest sustainable cost.Our roleAs a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts including profit and loss account, balance sheet, cash flows, variance analysis, key performance indicators and supporting commentaries in line with agreed SLA and reporting deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will maintain management accounting processes; implementing and communicating any required changesYou will provide supporting data and relevant analysis to the contract teams to aid decision making in an effective and timely mannerYou will ensure management and HY/FY fiscal reporting are fully reconciled and alignedYou will validate and upload all monthly actual results, budgets and forecasts to the Group consolidation and reporting model in line with required deadlinesYou will work collaboratively as a key member of the Accounting Services Management Team to ensure the execution of the strategic and operational objectives that apply to own area of internal reporting responsibilityYou will lead and/or contribute and support Projects as designatedYou will ensure compliance with all finance processes, controls and regulatory framework. Ensuring areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted to managementYou will proactively own and resolve issues including any business non-compliance through adopting a flexible approach and the creation of innovative solutions, which maintain an acceptable balance between risk, reward, and complianceYou will proactively identify improvements (through root cause analysis), making recommendations and successfully implement new ways of working gaining the full support of stakeholders and colleagues alikeYou will ensure the team always provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external stakeholdersYou will provide effective business partnering and relationship managementYou will be the point of contact for contract commercial and operationsExperience and Qualifications
Qualified (ACA / CIMA / ACCA or equivalent) or part qualified with experience in a similar industry
Strong accounting experience with a sound understanding of all management accounting disciplines
Intermediate / advanced Excel, Power Point and Word
Excellent understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation and the statutory and regulatory framework
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
The ability to challenge existing process, controls and delivery to improve performance
Relevant experience of managing in a customer service focused organisation with a track record of delivery
Experience of working in a fast paced, fast growing organisation
A strong continuous improvement mentality and project related experience
Strong awareness of Financial Reporting Standards and other developments within global accounting practices and the ability to apply within the company
