Hutcheon Mearns is supporting a large international service provider to source a Finance Manager to manage and develop a team of accountants, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger for a group of entities, and the reporting of IFRS financial information to Group Finance.

  • Management of a team of accountants and support staff, identifying priorities and directing their activities
  • Managing the integrity of the general ledger a group of entities, ensuring reconciled back to the projects ledger and approving all necessary journals to correctly categorise results
  • Review and submission of results and supplementary disclosures to group in line with reporting deadlines
  • Review and oversight of cashflow reporting
  • Oversee Inter-company reporting and reconciliations
  • Constantly looking for improvements in the reporting process, identifying areas generating need for corrections, identifying root cause and addressing issues
  • Working with Group Finance to address reporting requirements and issues
  • Ensure compliance with groups financial controls assurance framework
  • Development of reports in Oracle to ensure the integrity of numbers reported
  • Assist auditors both internal and external in any reviews
  • Responsible for reviewing and approving balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Technical expertise in IFRS creating accounting memos to support accounting treatments
  • Undertake impairment testing of investments, PP&E and Goodwill as required
  • Ownership of IFRS 16 technical accounting ensuring leases maintained in Oracle fusion lease accounting system and reporting requirements met
  • Research technical accounting changes, determine impact on the business, and coordinate training
  • Ensuring processes for the finance department are up to date and any gaps are addressed
  • Escalating issues to the Financial Controller when required and keeping them briefed on the teams activities

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with excellent people management skills. Ideally you will have trained in practice and have gone on to develop your career in industry. You will possess strong technical skills and have experience within an international organisation. You will have a proven track record of using an ERP system
