A new and exciting opportunity has opened for a Payroll Officer to join the Seven Payroll team.

As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for providing support to the business, payroll and Kronos team for all employee changes. This role is also responsible for input of timesheets / invoices from the business and developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to provide value added to wider payroll team.

Based in South Eveleigh and reporting to the Payroll Team Leader, you will:
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of all payroll deliverables for fortnightly payroll
  • Collate, check and process all casual, talent and contractor timesheets and invoices
  • Co-ordinate with the tax team to prepare and process all international talent payments in line with agreed schedule
  • Prepare and distribute all "Test Registers" which contain all payroll transactions to relevant departments for reviewal. Amend employee changes per feedback received
  • Assist in the initial new employee setup, employee changes and terminations for both casual permanent employees in Preceda
  • Prepare and post payroll journals to the accounting system (Tech1)
  • Provide support and cover for Kronos staff as needed to ensure timely and efficient processing of fortnightly payroll
  • Stay abreast of all payroll related legislation and best practice updates and identify required changes in the payroll systems or processes
  • Support Month End payroll tasks including payroll tax, PAYG, leave provisions, superannuation, account reconciliation and reporting
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for improvement or efficiency in the existing system configuration and setup through root cause analysis
  • Working collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to identify appropriate opportunities for continuous improvement of payroll services, processes and procedures (including automation)

  • We are looking for someone who has:
  • Proven payroll experience
  • Preceda systems experience
  • QuickSuper systems experience
  • The ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
  • Computer skills to an intermediate level including Microsoft Word, Excel and email (Outlook or Outlook Express)
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information
