Your opportunity

As Internal Auditor you will support the Internal Audit function in the provision of independent, objective and high quality assurance and advisory services designed to assess and improve NRMS's internal control environment. You will also assist the Internal Audit Manager with the delivery of the annual internal audit program in accordance with engagement standards, on time and within budget.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Develop risk based audit work programs, undertake substantive testing to review compliance with policies and procedures, identify value adding process improvements and deliver high quality work papers.
  • Contribute to designing and performing data analytic audit strategies during audit planning or fieldwork in conjunction with the Internal Audit Manager.
  • Ability to perform walkthroughs independently to process map end to end processes and to identify risks and controls
  • Draft high quality and comprehensive findings outlining factual observations, risk implications and root causes.
  • Facilitate effective communication with audit stakeholders, including requesting information, explaining audit approach, presenting and discussing findings.
  • Effectively communicate audit status to the Internal Audit Manager and Head of Internal Audit, as appropriate.
  • Establishing a stakeholder engagement process to drive improvements in the closure of internal audit findings.
  • Quarterly ARMC status update reporting of internal audits and actions
  • Maintain and administer the internal audit software system Protecht
  • Ensure all internal audits and agreed actions and owners are populated in the system with regular follow up and closure

  • Requirements for Success:
  • Tertiary level qualifications (e.g. bachelor degree) in a relevant discipline
  • 5+ years' experience in all aspects of internal audit (particularly in operational audits)
  • Ability to independently deliver end to end audits for reveiew including planning, performance, reporting, monitoring actions
  • Experience in specific audit areas including controls design and testing; data analytics
  • Strong verbal, report writing and presentation skills
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office (Including Visio)
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new software and communicate use to others

  • Experience in drafting Audit Committees and Board reports
  • Experience working with SEM's and/or co-source
  • Commercial competence
  • Influencing skills
  • SOX or CSA experience
