JOB PURPOSE:

We are looking for an intern who will assisting in month-end GL (general ledger) close and reporting of entity's results. Responsible in the preparation of journal entries, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and execution of internal control in accordance with GSK Internal Control Framework.Also, to collaborate with stakeholders and other functions (e.g. P2P, O2C, Stat & Tax) to ensure successful month-end close .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Deliver R2R Finance and Accounting activities and achieve month end closing deliverables.
  • Provide Record to Report (R2R) transactional processing support including preparation of journal entries and preparation and review of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform analysis/ analytical review of Profit and Loss accounts and balance sheet, cost centre checks and transaction posting checks.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to resolve general accounting and reporting issues.
  • Execute internal controls in accordance with the GSK Internal Control Finance Framework.
  • Monitor and track progress of projects.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives with Global Process Owner and Process Improvement Expert's (PIE's) to update changes to Local Standard Operating Procedures and assist in preparation of documentation required.
  • Coordinate team and performance meetings eg Finance Board.
  • Support audit and other compliance-related queries from external auditors.
  • Lead initiatives to drive people engagement and plan activities such as Team Building.

  • Support the Pharma business in analysing Market results.
  • Work with P2P, O2C and Tax & Statutory in addition to business stakeholders.

  • Educational background - University Undergraduate with Finance/Accounting background.
  • Proficient in use of IT and software/systems, comfortable with MS office especially Excel.
