*Non profit African education organisation situated in Morningside, Durban seek a Bookkeeper to T/B with at least 5 years' experience. *
*A relevant accounting qualification, knowledge of Pastel and a drivers' license is essential.*
• Full procurement functions
• Full creditors and debtors functions, including monthly reconciliations
• Cash book capturing
• Journal capturing
• Staff travel and advance account reconciliation
• Petty cash
• VAT Returns
• Ad hoc support to Finance Department
• Relevant qualification in accounting
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Pastel Accounting, including troubleshooting
• Knowledge of SARS statutory returns and compliance
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Strict adherence to systems, procedures and controls that ensure the accounting records are correctly and accurately recorded to balance sheet
• Professional work ethics, sound organisational skills and personal integrity
• Neatness, forward thinking, resourceful, and problem solving
• Reliable, honest and self-disciplined
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Collaborative work style and commitment to meeting set deadlines
• Code 8 driver's licence
• Experience in the NGO environment would be an advantage
