Financial Controller

Your new company
I am currently working with a high-growth, insurance product distributor looking for a Financial Controller to join the London team. This entrepreneurial business has had 35% YOY revenue growth and presents an exciting opportunity for a hands on, experienced finance professional.

Your new role
Reporting into the CFO and working closely with the bookkeeper this is a broad and varied role with responsibilities including:

• Work closely with the CFO, partners and develop working relationships with other head office staff
• Handling of daily and monthly accounting activities (e.g. commission reconciliations, payables, payments, payroll)
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly management accounts and KPI reporting
• Support in the preparation of detailed forecasts
• Lead on the delivery of the payroll process
• Manage and report on Company cashflow position
• Preparation of Board Papers and other third-party ad hoc reporting requirements
• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared monthly
• Support the preparation of the annual budgeting process, ensuring key stakeholder input into the process
• Prepare year-end financial statements in accordance with accounting standards
• Support on the annual external audit processes for the Company

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified accountant with a proven track record in delivering in broad, hands on roles. You will need to have good knowledge of UK accounting standards, VAT and tax rules. Previous experience in SME business is highly desirable, as is a good knowledge of excel. You must have strong communication skills and the ability to challenge senior stakeholders.
