Finance Business Partner | Cheltenham | up to £38,017 |12 months Fixed Term ContractThe Company Want to be part of an institution of further and higher education that's history spans over nearly two centuries.Role Performance & Planning is part of the Finance and Planning Department and is dedicated to the provision of professional services to support the institutions planning processes and managing its resources, in a controlled and sustainable manner.It has a key role to play in developing management information and scenario planning to support the institutions decision making processes and is also responsible for the production and coordination of all statutory returns to external agencies. The post is located in the Financial Performance team, who have responsibility for providing a management accounting service to academic and professional departments.The OpportunityTo provide financial management services to managers with budgetary responsibility including: production of management reports, support and advice on budget preparation and budget management.To monitor income and expenditure against budget, identify variances and investigate causes. Provide advice to budget holders regarding the likely impact on delivery of budget. Provide explanation and description of remedial action, if necessary. Update annual forecasts as appropriate.To liaise with budget holders over resources and planning, and to provide advice to inform decision making, including financial appraisal of new activities.Provide guidance and support to staff regarding the use of Project Information Management System to ensure that research and commercial contracts are managed in line with the institutions costing and pricing strategy and the requirements of the Annual Transparency Review.And more ....Qualifications
- AAT membership and/or part qualified CCAB is expected (essential)
- Higher Education Fully qualified CCAB (desirable)
