We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join the existing team based from the office in Cheadle the role will be predominantly working from home on a maternity contract for up to 14 months.

About The Role:


• As finance Assistant you will assist the Finance team by undertaking a range of support activities in the Finance Department.

• Primary focus will be supporting the Business Partner and Financial Analyst with various month end transactions and to provide ad hoc cover for the Sales / Purchase ledger clerk

• Assist the Business Partner and Finance Analyst with various tasks on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis

• Assist with month end journals and reports for Management Accounts

• Responsible for reviewing and analysing the credit card process ensuring all payments have adequate documentation backup

• Assist with general administration of the monthly payroll and maintaining records.

• Responsible for the daily banking recordings and postings

• Responsible for various nominal account reconciliations through use of internal systems and Excel

• Prepare and process monthly bank reconciliations

• Process of the weekly payment run

• Sales and Purchase Ledger Transactional cover as required

• Support the finance team through the annual statutory account process

• Liaise with both internal and external customers where necessary and proactively resolve queries

Essential Skills & Experience


• Previous experience was a finance assistant or accounts assistant essential

• Experience in accounts payable, purchase ledger, sales ledger and accounts receivable

• Experience of bank reconciliations will be an essential requirement for this role

• Experience of working across computerised account systems and excel required, with an advantage should you have a working knowledge of MS Dynamics Great Plains

• Experience of working in housing would be an advantage
