The incumbent in this position is responsible for managing, performing, and/or assisting in the planning and execution of compliance, financial, and operational audits, and special projects. The incumbent in this position will lead a team of auditors in performing audit activities. This individual regularly interacts with all levels of management to discuss potentially contentious issues and recommend improved business practices. This individual is responsible for the overall development and progression of the Internal Audit Program.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for setting policies and standards for auditing financial operations and gaming operations in accordance with the Federal and State regulations.
  • Responsible for planning and the development of Internal Audit procedures.
  • Monitors compliance with the systems of internal controls established by the Company.
  • Manages the independent audits within the Company for review of accounting, financial and operational functions to determine accuracy and effectiveness of the internal controls systems.
  • Manages and directs the special review of operations to detect or confirm internal fraud as well as develops and updates audit programs.
  • Manages and reviews the operations and programs to ascertain whether results are consistent with established objectives, plans and goals.
  • Develops written reports and presents the audit results to management and the Audit Committee.
  • Adheres to all Indiana Gaming Regulations.

    EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    (Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis)

    BS or BA degree in Accounting, Finance, business management or other related field. MBA a plus. Three (3) years of audit and/or accounting experience required; three (3) years casino experience preferred.

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: (Licenses, Certifications, Testing, etc.):
    • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Indiana Gaming Commission.
    • Must successfully pass background check.
    • Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
    • Must successfully pass drug screening.
    • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

    • State and local tax laws, gaming laws and regulations.
    • Must be proficient in Word and Excel.
    • Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.
    • Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations.

    • Research, analyze, comprehend, and act upon information and be aware of the business environment in order to effectively manage areas of responsibility.
    • Ability to set clear direction for the department to ensure the successful execution of the strategic plan
