DIRECTOR OF FINANCE:

Locally owned nut processing company is looking for a Director of Finance to join its strong and dynamic team.  The role will be responsible for all accounting and finance activities with an active role on the Senior Management Team.  This position will lead a team of 8-10 staff with indirect oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, grower accounting, sales analysis, and FP&A.  The Director of Finance will own the majority of the financial reporting and act as financial liaison between the business COO and Corporate CAO.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Leadership, Management, Strategy, and Planning
  • Act as primary financial strategist and strategic partner to Senior Management Team, with accountability and excellent performance.
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance including long-term operational goals, setting pricing goals and targets, and oversee all budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Manage and lead within the business with a sense of urgency, focus and reliability.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to both short-term and long-term growth plan.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency for evaluating the ROI, cost variables, and other dimensions of the financial opportunities or risks in proposed new projects.
  • Communicate, engage and interact with Senior Management Team and Corporate Finance Team.
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and market penetration, while driving performance management and enabling colleagues to do so as well.
  • Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by Senior Management Team.
  • Coordinate and align practices, processes and reporting with Corporate Finance Team.
  • Financial Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Prepare and present monthly financial budgeting reports to Senior Management and Corporate Finance Teams including P&L, budget vs. actual, and cash flow.
  • Review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and 18 month rolling operating budget.
  • Benchmark operations with Senior Management Team providing financial insight for better practices, processes and supplies.
  • Create and establish sales analysis, assuring the fulfillment of pricing request and approval process.  Guarantee compliance of pricing guidelines and commercial expense budgets. 

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.  BS degree is required.
  • CPA Required with 10+ years of experience and experience with cost accounting.
  • 10+ years in a senior accounting or finance role.
  • 5+ years experience in nut processing with a focus on pistachios
