Tax Valuations specialises in the valuation of business assets for tax and accounting purposes. We help businesses and individuals understand the value that tax authorities are likely to place on business assets and negotiate values for those assets with tax authorities.
Our work is very varied, from valuing small blocks of shares to be acquired by employees of a private company to valuing multi-billion pound businesses and intangible assets. We work with all types of business, including many household names.

Your role

• Liaising with clients, undertaking valuation modelling and drafting comprehensive valuation reports to a high standard with a focus on quality

• Peer reviewing valuation reports prepared by other team members

• Assisting the team of Associate Directors and Directors with more complex valuation projects and making significant contribution thereto

• Raising awareness of the offerings of the Tax Valuations team within the firm and beyond

• Tasks and responsibilities will grow over time and individuals that show quality and competence in their work may have the opportunity to contribute further in other projects

Full training will be provided.

Location:

London is preferred however we are flexible to consider other locations too.

Work pattern:
This is a permanent full time contract opportunity. However our team members work a variety of agile working patterns. Tell us what arrangement works for you and we'll try to accommodate.

Your professional experience
A successful applicant will be a self-motivated valuation professional with excellent attention to detail and a focus on quality.
We are looking for individuals who take responsibility for their work and are able to balance and manage competing commitments to ensure standards and deadlines are met. We are looking for individuals who are conscientious and can demonstrate persistence and energy when required to meet or exceed objectives and who respond well to pressure. We also value individuals with a keen eye for improvement in terms of self-development.

A successful applicant will possess many of the following key skills and attributes:

• Ability to draw upon a number of different sources of data and information in order to make judgements and come to robust conclusions.

• Ability to refine data and information provided by colleagues in order to support judgements and conclusions within valuation reports.

• Clear, concise and persuasive written communication style.

• An ability and willingness to prioritise and reprioritise tasks dependant on the workload of the wider team and shifting demands of clients.

• Effective judgement and decision-making.

• High level of ICT ability including Microsoft Excel. Training will be provided on in-house ICT tools.

• Strong administration and organisational skills.

• Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised within agreed processes, managing workload effectively and meeting deadlines.

• Ability to adapt and work flexibly to changes in responsibilities, workload and priorities to meet demand and manage the expectations of various stakeholders.

• Enthusiastic and self-motivated team player.

• Preferred, but not essential, skills include:

• An understanding of financial accounts (detailed training will be provided).

• An educational or work-based background in accounting and/or finance.

• Experience in valuing intangible assets.

• Working/work effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
