VAGO plays a critical role in holding the public sector to account by reviewing how well agencies deliver services and programs.
Our Performance Audit division positively affects the lives of Victorians by examining government entities' effectiveness and efficiency and making recommendations to improve future performance.


Senior Analysts in our Performance Audit unit contribute to the delivery of non-financial audits by:
  • Ensuring assigned audit work is completed to time, quality and budget requirements
  • Sourcing and analysing diverse evidence to develop audit findings
  • Proactively identifying and reporting emerging audit risks and opportunities
  • Presenting evidence, findings, recommendations and conclusions to your team and audit clients in Plain English in writing and verbally
  • Undertaking basic data analysis and developing data dashboards
  • Managing internal and external stakeholder engagement
  • Contributing to identifying and scoping audit topics
  • Using sound judgement to identify and report potential audit issues and referring contentious issues to senior colleagues

    We're looking for professionals with between 3-5 years of experience working in an investigation, evaluation, inquiry, or review environment.
    Your drive to improve business processes, services and outcomes is founded on a people-centric view of work.
    Ideally, your qualifications are at a post-graduate level and reflect your ability for research and critical analysis.
    In addition, you:
  • Are an adept verbal and written communicator with sound social skills
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and initiative
  • Take an open, adaptable, and solution focussed approach and promote a culture of inquiry
  • Constructively participate in learning and knowledge sharing activities
  • Use your naturally curious and creative mind to thoroughly investigate issues as well as drive new ways of doing things rather than accept the status quo.
