About the Role:
The Environmental Audit Unit implements and manages the Environmental Audit system associated with section 53 of the Environment Protection Act 1970. There has never been a more exciting time to join the EPA as we transition to a new legislative regime that comes into effect on the 01 July 2021.
This role is a member of the Environmental Audit team and will provide specialist advice to EPA on the Environmental Audit System and contaminated environments and represent EPA at external meetings regarding the Environmental Audit System. The position is required to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, assessing and reviewing the compliance of audit reports and related documents, including contaminated land and groundwater related approvals.
The role will also be required to provide support in matters pertaining to auditor appointment, performance and compliance, quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of environmental audit reports, development of internal and external policies and supporting documents for the Environmental Audit System.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate technical knowledge in the field of contaminated land and groundwater remediation, knowledge of the regulatory function of the environmental audit framework, good communication skills (written/verbal) with the ability to communicate highly complex concepts to expert and non-expert audiences.
