We are seeking an Accountant (Qualified/Newly Qualified) to join a talented team, focusing on delivery of key month end close activities including preparation of monthly management accounts, variance analysis, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting. This role would suit an accountant who is confident with system and procedural changes, with strong knowledge of IFRS/UK GAAP and previous experience in a large, multi-entity organisation.

Description

This fast-paced role is well suited to an established accountant who is proven in delivering of a broad range of month end tasks who is adaptable, can challenge the norm and can play a key role in improving processes and procedures. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll provide accurate & timely delivery of general accounting, period end closing & reporting activities, communicating reporting information to the wider business. You'll prepare month end journals applying your knowledge of financial and management accounting.

Profile

We'd like to hear from candidates with experience in:

  • Preparing monthly Management Accounts for multiple entities with variance analysis
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, using your judgement to highlight & investigate variances, providing supporting commentary to stakeholders as required
  • Identifying and actioning process improvement initiatives & opportunities
  • Utilising financial systems, ideally ERP software - efficiently extracting, interpreting and manipulating large volumes of data
  • IFRS/UK GAAP
  • Previous experience in a large organisation with multiple entities

The successful candidate will be a commercially aware, qualified individual with a desire to have a significant impact on business decisions within a continually developing & changing organisation. You will have proven operational experience within a large organisation.

You will be a self-motivated, determined and proactive individual, with the drive to deliver outstanding results. A methodical and logical approach to the analysis of information, focusing on the accuracy and quality of your work is essential, yet with the versatility to contribute creativity and innovative thinking. You should be able to take a different perspective when developing solutions, whilst considering all the appropriate factors when making a firm decision.
