My client is looking for an ambitious Senior Manager with a wealth of practice experience managing a team of both fully qualified and trainee accountants. The successful candidate should have at least 10 years general practice experience and hold a full accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA) and be competent in all aspects of accounts and taxation work.

Description

• Take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients and control all aspects of the preparation and execution of engagements for those clients including finalisation meetings
• Maintain continuous and well established relationships with clients
• Carry out complex aspects of work, including preparing the final output of an engagement
• Keep engagement partners adequately informed of progress on engagements and work closely together
• Prepare the invoice of client work. Monitor time spent on engagements to ensure a commercial return for the business and deal with any client queries that arise.
• Training and development of all staff
• Prepare and discuss staff performance reports and participate in staff appraisals
• Bring to the attention of partners opportunities to promote additional services to existing and potential clients
• Promote the full range of services available to both existing and potential clients and be interested to grow with the firms ambitions
• Develop and maintains a personal network of contacts
• Enjoy networking and be happy to represent the firm at external activities

Profile

• Fully ACCA/ACA Qualified with a minimum of 10 years practice experience
• Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office, IRIS, Sage and Xero software
• Hold comprehensive accounting and taxation experience, including, Corporate taxation, Mainstream personal taxation and Mainstream VAT

• Be technically up to date and fully adverse with FRS102/a accounting standards
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Experience of staff supervision and managing a successful team
• Management accounts and book-keeping experience
• Audit skills useful but not essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy developing internal team and client relationships
• Be able to meet deadlines and budget
• Be able to work on own initiative
• Keep partners updated with progress of client work
