** Exciting opportunity in central London **

This Accounts Assistant position is working for a professional services company based in central London.

The primary purpose of the Accounts Assistant role is to ensure the:

· effective day-to-day operations of the multi-location accounts payable function; and

· effective day-to-day operations of the centralised senior payroll function

Client Details

This Accounts Assistant role will be working for a professional services firm, based in a small team of 6, within a smaller company of around 25 employees.

This accountancy position will be a work from home role until further notice.

Description

The key responsibilities are:

· Review of all invoices for proper documentation and approval prior to payment processing.

· Timely preparation of accounts payable listing and recommend payments to senior management.

· Preparation of monthly site back charges.

· Preparation and processing of journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the month end close process.

· Monthly variance analysis of the G&A accounts.

· Preparation of cash forecast as required.

· Preparation of foreign accounts translation.

· Preparation of VAT/HST working papers and filing documentation on monthly/quarterly basis.

· Assist with expense reports with regards to credit card activities for executives.

· Assist in the audit process with internal, external and government auditors.

· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end working papers.

· Assist in the preparation of the monthly G&A report.

· Assist as needed with month end activities and/or during times of heavy workload in the accounting department.

· Liaising with auditors to finalise statutory accounts in a timely manner and line with statutory reporting deadlines.

· Assist in the annual Corporate G&A budget and subsequent forecasting processes.

· Assistance with preparation of certain notes to the Group Financial Statements.

Including ad-hoc accountancy tasks.

Senior payroll

· Effective management of the company payrolls

· Preparation, calculation, and processing of the monthly centralised senior payroll function including data gathering, liaising with third party processors, pay calculations, funds wiring, general ledger entries, intercompany invoicing, and payslip generation for the following locations:

* Off-shore expatriate payroll

* Corporate offices

* Senior Ghanaian staff

· Calculate and process quarterly board of director's fees and prepare wire requests.

· Ensure the timely and complete filing of tax and other related information with the tax authorities and third-party service providers.

· Preparation of key management compensation documentation.

· Assist in the audit process with internal, external and government auditors.

· Preparation and posting of the quarterly headcount Journals.

Profile

The successful candidate for this Accounts Assistant position will have:§

· Bachelor's degree in accounting from College or University while studying towards ACCA or equivalent qualification.

· Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting and payroll with exposure to multi- currency/location environment.

· Basic knowledge and understanding of IFRS accounting rules and guidelines.

· ERP experience (NetSuite preferred and OneStream would be advantageous).

Job Offer

This accounting position will offer the candidate a long term role within an exciting industry. This position will start as a 3 month contract to permanent role.
