    u&u Recruitment Partners is proud to Partner with Queensland University of Technology to deliver the recruitment process for the position of Senior Manager, Insurance and Payroll Services.

    The Position

    Working within the Human Resources department, the Senior Manager, Insurance and Payroll Services will lead the payroll function, team and outcomes. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and managing the payroll team;
  • Developing payroll processes and ensuring compliance;
  • Involvement in payroll system upgrades and strategy recommendations;
  • Providing advice on payroll related compliance to reduce risk;
  • Managing Enterprise Agreements, audit requirements and legislation changes affecting payroll;
  • Delivering system updates related to legislative changes and contributing to other HR system upgrades;
  • Encouraging a transparent and compliant payroll function and reputation;
  • Managing internal and external relationships;
  • Navigating and analysing challenges, ensuring accuracy and efficiency; and
  • Supervising the Insurance Manager.

  • The Ideal Candidate
  • Prior experience in payroll management (essential);
  • Qualification or training in payroll management (well regarded);
  • Experience managing a payroll function of 3,000+ FTE;
  • Experience leading a payroll team of at least five;
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance;
  • Understanding of complex Awards and EAs;
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and implement new Government payroll changes;
  • Prior involvement in system upgrades or implementations;
  • Proven mentorship and performance management experience; and
  • High level of communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
