Financial Controller / Finance Manager SME Blackburn, Manufacturing / Distribution £40,000 9 month contract


Your new company
This organisation are a family owned business who turnover approximately 6 million and are specialist importers, and distributors supplying to the construction industry. They have a long serving team based in Blackburn, with an experienced and competent finance team of 3 whom this role will directly manage.

Your new role
This Financial Controller Job will essentially control all things in Finance covering the maternity of someone who has been in the job for over 10 years. All systems and processes are currently in place, and your job will be to continue the accounts process running smoothly. You will take the accounts from reconciliation stage, and produce monthly management accounts monthly, along with monthly product statistic analysis presented to the managing director. You will oversee the credit control, purchase ledger, authorise payments, balance the bank, produce cash flow forecasting, VAT Returns, process the small payroll, and manage the stock taking process and adjustments. Your job will also involve buying foreign currency on a monthly basis, mainly US dollars.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a friendly, kind, and team working nature. This job will manage 3 people directly, all of whom have been with the organisation for a long time so they're settled, happy, know what they're doing and want someone to slot into this team nicely. You must be willing to stay the full length of contract, and be able to take direction in terms of learning the role you'll be doing, but then work on your own when the current person leaves for maternity. You MUST have experience with SAGE, and have relevant experience operating at a similar level, and be able to start on or before the first week in April.
