Position Overview and Responsibilities

National Instruments Penang has an opening for Senior Cost Accountant. This person will play a significant role in National Instrument's Penang manufacturing and APAC services operation; and will work closely with the worldwide finance and cost accounting teams in the US and in Hungary.

Job Details:

Participate in development and maintenance of standard cost systems for plant operation

Implement procedures and policies for cost accounting

Oversee cost accounting functions in standard cost environment, including variance reporting and analysis of operating expenses, absorption, and overall gross margin.

Coordinate and support period-end financial close activities in an accurate and timely manner.

Ensure the correct application of US and Local GAAP for management reporting and statutory reporting for monthly and year-end close.

Application of adequate internal control measures and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley internal control and reporting requirements

Strong level of analytical skills, numeracy and strong financial understanding

Proven communications skills with internal and external stakeholders

Willingness to learn and ability to meet deadlines

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting (or country equivalent). CPA, ACCA (or equivalent) and MBA preferred.

Understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting concepts

Experience with multinational companies a plus

Experience with Oracle or similar accounting system preferred

Minimum 5 to 8 years experience with emphasis on cost and budgeting.

English Language Competency and effective communication skills - Can clearly and concisely communicate in English, so that persons you work with can understand you clearly, particularly in technical conversations

Position requires approximately 10% international travel.
