We currently have an opportunity for an enthusiastic Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team based at our Surfers Paradise Corporate Office on a 12 month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Accountant, this role will focus on providing support to the corporate accounting team with a wide variety of responsibilities.

Getting to know the role and your responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant,your primary focus will be the preparation of end of month reports, reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, preparing invoices and setting up payment files compliant with internal policies.
  • Preform daily bank reconciliations
  • Perform bank transfers
  • Responsible for banking administration
  • Raise monthly invoices
  • Assist with distributing central expenses to [rp[erties
  • Ensures timely collection of aged debt
  • Reconciles BAS and FBT
  • Maintain and reconcile Fixed Asset register
  • Process end of month accurals and assists with P&L review
  • Reconcile Balance Sheets
  • Assist with Corporate Credit Card administration
  • Assist with Loyalty points redemption and reconciliation
  • Ensures procedures and processes are followed
  • Performs other duties as required

  • What we need from you
  • Minimum2 year experience in public practice or commerce is preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience, preferably in finance, night audit or as duty manager.
  • Knowledge of Great Plains, Hirum and Sihot would be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • A proactive nature, providing timely information to the Finance Manager.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
