Aston Carter have partnered with an Australian-based Investment Management Firm in search for a Chief Financial Officer. The company heavily invests in the food and agricultural businesses. Their investors are both local and international, and their mission is to grow each new acquisition by starting with developing their finance function. They have $1 billion in funds under management. Role

The Chief Financial Officer role sits in one of their acquired businesses and it aims to transform the overall strategic and finance function. The CFO will be responsible for taking over the financial control, financial planning and analysis and commercial finance and developing those functions. The main duties of the role include:

Driving the month-end close and financial reporting of the business.

Improving account procedures and controls.

Driving the management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Business Partnering with key stakeholders to ensure the strategic growth of the business.

Guiding the commercial finance function as the business responds to M&A engagements.

Analysing data and building financial models to identify growth opportunities.

Candidate

You will have a business development mind-set, with strong business and commercial acumen and willingness to deal with a hybrid role in financial control and financial planning and analysis. You will be solution-driven and passionate about building relationships. Key criteria will include:

CA or CPA qualification.

Maintaining Financial modelling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Demonstrated experience in business partnering or financial control.

Agriculture business experience is favourable but not essential.

Exposure to commercial finance.
