The ACCC is an independent statutory authority that administers the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other Acts.The ACCC works to promote effective competition and fair trading in the market place to benefit consumers, business and the community, and efficiency in the delivery of certain infrastructure services.

We're looking for Finance Officers to support the Assistant Director and Financial Accounting team by providing exceptional customer service in the delivery of financial (invoice) processing, account reconciliations, journals, financial reporting and business support activities.

Finance Officers are primarily responsible for the invoice and payment processing functions within the ACCC. This may include processing invoices including; direct accounts payable invoices, purchase order invoices, and external legal invoices. This includes providing advice and support to internal and external stakeholders.

The Finance Officer may be required to assist in supporting other teams in the Branch including Procurement, and Property Services.

The Finance Officer will be flexible, self-motivated, demonstrate initiative, attention to detail and a committed approach to work. They will also have demonstrated experience in finance operations and be proficient in using computerised accounting systems.

The successful applicant/s will:
  • Provide assistance to the day-to-day finance operations of the team including accounts payable and/or accounts receivable.
  • Be familiar with relevant legislative and policy frameworks including PGPA, FBT and GST legislation, WoAG Travel policies and basic procurement processes.
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders on finance-related matters.
  • Assist in the banking function and the processing of credit cards and related reconciliations.
  • Provide assistance to the travel functions of the organisation.
  • Contribute to the development, review, implementation of accounting and operational policies, procedures and practices.

  • Financial Accounting Team

    We are a flexible and supportive team responsible for the financial processing and reporting functions of the ACCC and the NCC. This includes advice on the Commonwealth Government's Resource Management framework, including the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, associated rules, policy and guidance. Other services include processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax and corporate credit card management, CBMS data entry, stakeholder liaison, as well as providing support and assistance to the branch and across the ACCC and NCC.
