  • The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) is the national regulator for Australia's vocational education and training (VET) sector. ASQA engages with, and regulates the VET sector to ensure confidence in the VET sector and its outcomes, including internationally. ASQA's mission is to continuously improve as a regulator, in partnership with the VET sector and to develop a shared understanding of the value of regulation to support quality outcomes for students. ASQA is a professional, responsive and innovative regulator currently undergoing substantial development and growth in response to changes in emphasis in Government policy and expectations of industry.

    Reporting to the Executive Director Strategy and Performance, you will interact with ASQA's Executive to develop a deep understanding of the organisation's strategy. You will develop a flexible and responsive budgeting and reporting process to enable evidence based decision making, while sensitively identifying, measuring, mitigating and escalating financial risk. The organisation is embarking on a substantial technology upgrade, which will give you the opportunity to exercise your technology and business improvement skills. You will lead a team which also comprises a small facilities management and procurement function. ASQA is seeking the best possible candidate, and so you could be based anywhere along the Australian eastern seaboard.

    You are CA/CPA qualified and to possess high levels of commercial acumen. You are an effective strategist with strong analytical skills and are able to distil meaning from data. You are a skilled people leader with a capacity to develop positive and engaged teams. You enjoy stakeholder management and you are open-minded, agile and flexible.     The successful candidate is required to hold:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline
