The Opportunity

We have an exceptional opportunity for a senior finance professional to join our organisation as our Finance Director based in Norwich. Under the guidance of the Chief Financial Officer the Finance Director will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the finance function within the group. You will play a critical role driving improvement in financial performance across the organisation to enable the delivery of the Groups strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

This role is a key strategic, as well as functional role which will require not only ensuring that the existing processes, controls and finance function continue to perform and deliver but also to guide the company's strategic direction through regular insights and recommendations based on the continual review of the financial performance of the business.

The Finance Director will hold responsibility for oversight of the Heads of Finance and direct line management of the teams of Financial Accounts, Transactional Finance, MIS and Projects, managing the department's performance both in terms of driving efficiency, but also succession planning, development and reward to ensure the department is engaged supported and incentivised.

Responsible for driving financial and operating performance, delivering value on all financial matters you will predominantly focus on ensuring the day to day operations of the finance department, covering all aspects of reporting, commercial analysis, forecasting, audit and treasury.

The Candidate

It is essential that you can demonstrate a wealth of experience, knowledge and personal aptitude offering an innovative and progressive approach to senior financial management.

With experience in senior finance leadership within organisations of comparable scale and complexity in the public or private sectors, you will be a qualified accountant with experience of managing change as well as a range of technical disciplines.

This role is suited to a highly motivated, solution-focused and commercially astute strategic leader, comfortable with ambiguity and complexity, you will have outstanding diplomacy, communication and relationship building skills to deal with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

You will have proven leadership qualities with the ability to empower and inspire to identify and develop the potential skillsets and qualities required to run a dynamic proactive department.

You will have excellent advisory and influencing skills taking advantage of emerging opportunities in support of continuous improvement, growth and development.
