The company is looking for an experienced AAT qualified accountant (MAAT) to join their small, friendly accountancy practice as a part-time Client Accountant (2 - 3 days per week).

The ideal candidate will have a background of working in an accountancy practice, with a variety of small businesses for at least three years.

They will be able to work unsupervised, preparing sole trader, partnership and limited company accounts. The ideal candidate will have small business tax knowledge and can prepare both personal self-Assessment and corporation tax calculations and returns.

They will have the ability to identify potential errors and issues in clients' records and understand how to resolve them.

Main Duties would include:

• Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies (including incomplete records)
• Preparation and calculation of self-assessment returns & corporation tax returns
• Preparation/review of quarterly VAT returns
• Bookkeeping for clients using either QuickBooks, Xero or Freeagent
• Reconciliation and maintenance of key control accounts such as bank, sales ledger and purchase ledger
• Communicating with clients and resolving any client queries
• General admin duties
