Job Details

Do you have a passion for a career in Finance and a genuine interest in working for an organisation who supports people in crisis?

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an analytical and solutions focussed individual to join the British Red Cross as an Apprentice Fundraising Finance Officer, providing financial support to the Fundraising and Supporter Engagement directorate of the British Red Cross.

Reporting to the Fundraising Finance Business Partner, you will work with the rest of the team to support Fundraising through the provision of analysis and support, bringing your technical acumen to bear in the resolution of queries and effective preparation and maintenance of the accounts.

The team will work together with the Fundraising Finance Business Partner and provide development opportunities through exposure to more senior stakeholders, participation in strategic project work and by gaining experience of the British Red Cross (BRC’s) work.

With mentoring and coaching from the Fundraising Finance Business Partner and BRC support and funding, you will pursue a chartered accountancy qualification (ACCA or CIMA) and begin a financial career in the Not-for-Profit sector.

More about this apprenticeship opportunity

The training provider for this apprenticeship opportunity is Kaplan who will provide the level 7 Professional Accountancy and Taxation Apprenticeship. You will receive Tuition from experienced and qualified tutors, flexible study options, ‘MyKapApp’ online resources and a dedicated Talent Coach for mentoring and support.

The duration of the apprenticeship training is 36 months, however where a learner has exemptions, the duration of the course will be reduced accordingly.

The apprenticeship salary structure includes annual pay increases to reflect the growing level of knowledge and skill of the apprentice. Upon conclusion of the apprenticeship training, the salary will switch to a full BRC non-apprenticeship salary. The British Red Cross will support the 20% ‘Off the Job Training’ commitment of an apprenticeship and any other elements.
