Our well establised company has a vacancy for a Senior Wage Clerk. Candidates should be available immediately. Salary on offer is R8000 ctc.
* Manage departmental staff, i.e. wage clerks, costing clerk and HR clerk
* Train all new payroll staff members
* Process and resolve all wage queries and prepare for the Admin Manager to approve
* Ensure deadlines are met every fortnight in respect of wage capture
* Ensure pay period files are complete as per SOP time frame, i.e. before roll over
* Sign off schedules against cost allocation and excel run per site and per week when balancing
* Notify the Admin Manager of any problems or foreseen problems immediately
* Check all supervisors' timesheets before payments are made and forward a bi-weekly report per site to the Directors
* Compile a report bi-weekly on deductions for PPE for the pay run
* Make sure schedules from clients are received on time for invoicing purposes
* Submit reports to clients timeously
* Make sure purchase order numbers are received before wages are paid so that invoicing can be done
* Ensure that you or the Admin Manager is present when staff need to work late
* Complete the payroll run after ensuring all bi-weekly timesheets have been captured
* Compile payroll summary and balance it together with the excel run to the schedule summary
* Once balanced create the bank import file and send it to the Managing Director and paymaster with the payroll summary and excel run
* Send pay slips to relevant regional managers
* Send proof of payment to all relevant regions
* Update pay period and then begin new bi-week
* Compile monthly reports and man hours for listed clients
* UI19 Forms - ensure the reason for termination is correct as per Pastel for bi-weekly staff
* Carry out any other reasonable instruction given by management
* Minimum 3 years experience managing a Wage Office.
* Minimum 2 years Pastel Payroll experience.
* Good Excel skills.
* Good leadership skills.
* Good problem solving skills.
* High stress tolerance.
* Must thrive under pressure.
