The Company:

BID Group Ltd are an established, Bolton based, industrial door company with depots in Scotland, North-East, Midlands and Southern England. With over 55 teams of mobile engineers we install, service, repair and maintain all types of industrial doors, dock levellers, high speed doors, automatic doors, gates, barriers, and turnstiles across the UK. We also manufacture and supply our own range of dock levellers and high-speed doors from our 2 manufacturing sites in Bolton.

The Role:

We are looking for a full-time, Part Qualified Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance Director in the day-to-day running of a busy accounts department. The ideal candidate will be a part qualified accountant or qualified by experience and someone who enjoys being an integral and proactive part of the team.

Based at our Head Office in Westhoughton, Bolton you will be working in a finance team of six staff and as this is a key supporting role your duties and responsibilities will be varied with plenty of scope for development.

Duties will include:


• Company VAT/CIS returns


• Monthly payroll and other journals


• PAYE / NI / payroll support


• Balance sheet reconciliations


• Collating the monthly management accounts and divisional P&L's


• KPI's and other reports to weekly / monthly deadlines


• Variance analysis


• Accruals / Prepayments


• Fixed Asset Register / Depreciation


• Cost of Sales / Stock Taking


• BID (ERP) System Maintenance

Duties and responsibilities will evolve with the role and needs of the business as we continue to expand.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will:


• Have a minimum of 3 years all-round accounts experience with exposure to the duties listed above.


• Be AAT qualified, Part Qualified ACMA, ACA or QBE


• Have strong IT skills (in particular MS Excel)


• Possess a resourceful and friendly manner and be keen to learn and take on new responsibilities.


• Be highly organised with strong administrative skills, accuracy, and attention to detail


• Have excellent commercial and operational awareness
