The Role:

We recognise that anyone joining us at this stage of their career will have some skills and learning gaps therefore our experienced team will be on hand to offer training and support where required.

Working within our small but skilled finance function, the Management Accountant duties include:

  • Inputting data into the accounting system through bulk uploads, and some data entry when required
  • Supporting the production of the management accounts - Completing for review by senior colleagues to include balance sheet reconciliations. This will include Accruals, Prepayments, Deferred and Accrued income calculations.
  • Variance analysis and commentary to accompany management accounts and supporting the understanding of variance and performance by non-finance managers
  • Supporting the maintenance and upkeep of the cashflow forecast and budget model
  • Debtor reconciliation and management
  • Ownership of the companies AP and AR ledgers
  • Information preparation for year end and ad-hoc reporting
  • Creating weekly income summaries
  • Supporting the preparation of all statutory returns eg VAT, PAYE, CT600
  • Supporting the production of statutory accounts, including all supporting workings

About You:

  • The ideal candidate will hold a degree in a finance or accountancy related subject and will either be qualified or part qualified via a recognised accounting qualification
  • Experience as either an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant, Graduate Accountant or Trainee Accountant is ideal
  • Strong core competencies (including excel and systems/processes i.e. Xero, Sage Line 50)
  • Eager to learn and grow your skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisation skills and able to manage multiple tasks

Initially this role will be home based. We will review this as and when the COVID environment changes and will take into consideration the successful candidates preferences at that point in time. It is probable that some attendance in the office will be required.
