This hugely successful, award-winning Accountancy firm are listed as one of the Top Ten accounting networks in the world. As a result of an ever-increasing amount of Brexit-related enquiries, this firm is looking for an Assistant VAT Manager to be based in either its Birmingham, Manchester or Cheltenham offices.

The firm is part of a global accounting network with extensive international reach. They have offices in over 120 countries and have operated for the past 100 years, providing a wide range of audit, tax and advisory services to thousands of multinational clients across various industries. With the Brexit date having come and gone, this firm has been receiving a very large amount of enquiries and as a result, are looking to make senior hires within their high-performing VAT teams across the UK.

This role is best suited to a VAT professional that's looking to work mostly in an Advisory capacity, whilst balancing some technical responsibilities. You'll be involved in advising client's daily and translating technical issues to them. Client marketing and business development will not be a core part of this role, but the firm will develop this area as you progress to becoming a Manager.

You'll also be regularly involved in cross-border client projects, and will therefore require strong technical expertise with compliance-based projects. You won't have to be a technical whizz or coding expert, but strong working knowledge of tax technology is very important for this role. This is an area that the firm are looking to develop further as tax services go more digital!

Requirements

• Several years of experience in an VAT/Indirect Tax advisory role
• Demonstrable technical expertise and advisory skills
