A strategic finance business partner is required who can ensure that we are able to take advantage of those opportunities and achieve our ambitions.

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance of the College of Social Sciences and the Head of the Adam Smith Business School, this role will lead the finance team within the School and provide high quality strategic and operational decision-making support across the School through the delivery of robust, high quality financial analytical insight.

  • As part of the School management team play a key contributor role in the development and implementation of the School strategy within the broader College strategic framework.
  • In partnership with School and College senior Colleagues support delivery on the School's KPI targets.
  • Lead the budgeting and planning processes for the School including the month end management accounts and quarterly forecasting in line with the requirements of College Finance.
  • To provide decision-making support to Head of School to deliver on financial targets and ensuring sound business development opportunities are progressed and tracked in line with delivery targets.
  • Integral member and key contributor of the wider College and University finance team progressing College/University-wide initiatives in line with agreed deliverables.
  • To continuously improve processes and procedures that support efficient and effective operations within a strong internal control environment, whilst supporting consistency of approach within the College.
